Whoo Hoo

Was looking out my patio door when what should appear before my eyes.  Could it be? Is it? Why, yes it is...The leaves are beginning to change on the tree right behind my building.

Oh what joy!  More to come...

Fall Is Officially Here!

Fall began at exactly 10:17 a.m. here on the East Coast.  So what are you going to do today?

I've done my house cleaning.  Now I have all the windows open and a fall scented candle lit in every room.  Smells great in here.

September 1, 2012

It's the beginning of the Labor Day weekend in the USA and the temps outside will reach the low 90's in my neck of the woods today, but inside it will be a cool fall day with temps in the low 70's .   For today I pulled out my tote of fall decorations.  LOL

Looking inside my tote, I hardly have much.  I did some major decluttering earlier this year and I downsize my fall decorations.  (Ooh a fall commercial).   Oh sorry about that.  As I was saying I don't have much fall decorations so I need to do some shopping this weekend.  On my pinterest board I have been collecting ideas I want to use in my little palace this year.

This is what I want to do for the sidebar in the dining room

dollar store glasses, sticker letters, fill with cinnamon sticks, pinecones, acorns, etc.

Glass vases from the dollar store and lettering (which I can make using 8 1/2 x 11 label paper).  Simple but elegant.

I want to copy-cat this and put in a nice frame and sit on the console table in the foyer/hall.  This is the first thing I and guests will see as they enter my home.

So true.

Anchoring either side of the framed message will be some fall topiaries similar to these:

I made a pair of these several years ago with items purchased from the dollar store.  Very easy to do.

For my coffee table. I don't want a lot on the table, but something that makes a nice statement.  So this idea of a fall color candle surround by a leaf/berry wreath will do just the trick.

Fall wreath

That's it for now. I'm still looking for more ideas for other areas of my place.
